About – Ryan Tunstall

I have been practicing yoga for 15+ years and in 2015 completed teacher training. Soon after, I started teaching as a hot yoga teacher. Having always had an interest in health and well being and deep tissue massage, rolling was a natural progression.

Over 5 years ago I had my first experience on the ball by accident at a yoga festival. I booked a class called yoga with balls thinking it was going to be balls of steel or kick arse, I was mistaken. It turned out to be little rubber balls and self massage. As soon as I was on the ball I knew it was for me, I nearly jumped through the roof during my first roll out but soon relaxed and noticed the difference.

Researching the Roll Model® Method, the training was in the northern-hemisphere making it difficult. A few years later, my training in the States was cancelled by the pandemic. So training took place online early in 2021. Out of the 28 participants I was the only one located in the southern hemisphere and only male. I then went on to become a Certified Roll Model® Method Practitioner and launched Lets Roll NZ. During the pandemic and lockdowns I managed to complete certification, run three Lets Roll series, launch weekly community classes and complete further study on Rolling along the Anatomy Trains. I love rolling, releasing points of tension and the benefits it brings. Even better is helping people experience the variety of benefits themselves.

2021 saw me become New Zealand’s only Certified Roll Model® Method Practitioner
